I was born in High Point, NC and grew up in Archdale, NC. I am a graduate of Trinity Senior High School. I received an Associate in Science degree from Davidson County Community College in 1977, an AB degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1979, and a BS degree in Medical Technology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1981. I was employed as a Medical Technologist at High Point Regional Hospital and later was the laboratory information systems coordinator there.
I was recorded as a Friends Minister by North Carolina Yearly Meeting in 2014. I have served as pastor of Asheboro Friends Meeting since July 2016.
I accepted the call to children's ministry over 40 years ago beginning in my home meeting, and working in many different churches and settings throughout the years. I have served Asheboro Friends Meeting twice. First from 2005-2013 and returning in December 2016. During those years I led many young people and am currently leading 13 young people. It is a blessing to still watch both groups be used by God. Most of the first group is grown and are serving God in various places. I am so blessed to have two interns working along side me and teaching them about ministry. Our current group of young people are so eager to learn the word of God! I'm so thankful God lead me out of retirement to help further his kingdom!! Together we are building a "new church" here at Asheboro Friends Meeting!!
Hi, my name is Marie Beeson. I am currently a transfer student at Randolph Community College, with dreams of becoming a Special Education teacher. One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6 which reads: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.” God works in wonderful ways and I carry this verse in my heart to remind me that while I may have plans of my own, I must always trust him to lead me where I am most useful. have been a youth intern at Asheboro Friends since September 2017. I believe that God has led me here to guide the youth as they grow in Christ and help bring them up in the light of his word. My ministry here is not only to teach our youth, but to learn and grow in my own faith with them as well. My love for God has been deeply rooted in my home church and community, where I was surrounded with love and wisdom my whole life. I hope to create an environment like that where they feel loved, accepted, and supported on their life journeys. I am so excited for everything that the Lord is doing in our meeting and am truly blessed to be a part of his work here!
My name is Twyla Little. I am currently a senior at Elon University. After college, I plan to go to nursing school, and later become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I love being around children, and seeing them smile, while also finding ways to make them smile. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching tv, and doing things that make me happy! I also enjoy going to church, and working for the Lord. One of my favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13, because it reminds me that no matter what life puts in front of me, God has given me the strength to endure it. As one of the youth interns at Asheboro Friends Meeting, I strongly believe that God has a purpose for each of the youth, therefore it is our duty to feed and nourish the souls that are eager to learn about the mighty works of God!
