Leadership at Asheboro Friends Meeting

The mission of Asheboro Friends Meeting is to encourage
LIFE in Christ
Growth in Christ
and
SERVICE in the name of Christ

Pastor

I was born in High Point, NC and grew up in Archdale, NC.  I am a graduate of Trinity Senior High School.  I received an Associate in Science degree from Davidson County Community College in 1977, an AB degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1979, and a BS degree in Medical Technology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1981.  I was employed as a Medical Technologist at High Point Regional Hospital and later was the laboratory information systems coordinator there.

I  was recorded as a Friends Minister by North Carolina Yearly Meeting in 2014.  I have served as pastor of Asheboro Friends Meeting since July 2016.

Youth Director

I accepted the call to children's ministry over 40 years ago beginning in my home meeting, and working in many different churches and settings throughout the years. I have served Asheboro Friends Meeting twice. First from 2005-2013 and returning in December 2016. During those years I led many young people and am currently leading 13 young people. It is a blessing to still watch both groups be used by God. Most of the first group is grown and are serving God in various places. I am so blessed to have two interns working along side me and teaching them about ministry. Our current group of young people are so eager to learn the word of God! I'm so thankful God lead me out of retirement to help further his kingdom!! Together we are building a "new church" here at Asheboro Friends Meeting!!

Youth Intern

My name is David Peters.  I am a Youth Intern, serving with Miss Susan Coltrane, at Asheboro Friends.

I am the father of three children - Lily, Zachary, and Megan.

I received two AAS degrees from Sandhills Community College.  One degree in Business Administration (1989) and one in Civil Engineering Technology (1992).

I worked for the NCDOT for 29.5 years and retired from the department in June of 2021.  I resumed my work career again in July 2021 with a CEI firm named DRMP with whom I resumed the same position that I had retired from with the NCDOT.  I inspect roadway construction projects for compliance with NCDOT standards and specifications during the construction phase.

I enjoy sports, friends, family, and serving Christ.
